Los Angeles Kings center Andy Andreoff scored his first NHL goal on Monday night. His goal was the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes.
“It’s been a long year, so I’m glad I finally got it,” Andreoff said. “(Jordan Nolan) made a great play to me for a tap-in. I’ll take one off my shin pad, off my butt. It doesn’t matter, as long as it goes in.”

Jordan Nelson came into the Coyotes zone down the left side, before finding Andreoff. He put the puck under Coyotes goalie Mike Smith’s pads for the goal.

The Kings were the dominant team throughout the game, even though Smith made 34 out of 35 shots.
Andreoff hasn’t played much this season, as he’s been a healthy scratch for much of the season. The 23-year-old was the Kings’ third-round pick in the 2011 NHL Draft.
Besides the goal, the point was also the first of his career.
Andreoff scored in his 15th NHL game.

“I kind of blacked out. I couldn’t really hear anything,” Andreoff said. “I was just shocked. I was very relieved to finally get it. I saw (Nolan) battling in the corner and he’s a good playmaker. He would either put it in or give it to me for a backdoor tap-in.”
Kings head coach Darryl Sutter was happy for his player.
“Not many players get a chance of playing in the NHL or scoring goals,” he said. “Good for him. Hopefully, he’s got lots of game-winners left in him.”
Before scoring his first NHL goal, Andreoff had played in seven games with the Manchester Monarchs in the American Hockey League. He had five goals and five assists for 10 points in those seven games.
