Steven Gerrard is one of the best soccer players in the world. But this morning, he spent just 42 seconds on the pitch.

This is one of the shortest appearances of his career. He came onto the pitch against Manchester United.

And as soon he came onto the field, his time was over. He came in on the second half with Liverpool losing 1-0.

He was given a red card a short time later after stomping the leg of Ander Herrera.

Seconds after Gerrard was removed, Manchester United scored its second goal.
