That did not take long. Zach Mettenberger’s agent has already requested a trade for his client.

Joe Linta, the agent, has made the request after the Tennessee Titans selected Marcus Mariota with the second overall pick. Linta obviously sees Mettenberger as a starter in the NFL.

However, there is a problem with that suggestion. There are only so many options to be an NFL starter.

While Mettenberger is a young signal caller, he should definitely have value. But what would that value be, because he was a sixth round pick last year.

Could the Titans get a sixth round pick for him? It is possible. They’re not going to be a high pick in the second or third round since team’s are not willing to give up valuable picks anymore.

Mettenberger lacks mobility, even before his torn ACL at LSU Tigers that caused him to go late last year. He also has erratic ball placement, which hurts his value, too.

Last season, Mettenberger appeared in seven games. In those games, he went 107 of 179 for 1,412 yards. He also had one 300+ yard throwing game, while having eight touchdowns to seven interceptions.

He also had five rushing attempts for four yards.
