The Oklahoma City Thunder have hired a new head coach. Florida Gators head coach Billy Donovan has been hired on a multi-year contract.
Donovan leaves behind the college ranks to take this pro job. However, this is not the first time that he has accepted an NBA job.

Donovan was at the school for 19 years. He’ll be with the Thunder, possibly through the next five years.

The Thunder will have high expectations going into next season. Plus, they’ll have to decide what to do with Kevin Durant, who can become a free agent next summer.
The team has a very talented roster and just missed the playoffs on the final game of the regular season. They were limited without Russell Westbrook, Durant, and Serge Ibaka due to injuries.
Oklahoma City’s front office is hoping that Donovan can take the team back to the NBA Finals, which they were in 2012 before losing to the Miami Heat.
