NKOTB shows Philly sports team love

The New Kids on the Block, a popular group from the 90’s, had a performance last night at the Wells Fargo Center in South Philadelphia. But before their show, they showed Philadelphia some love.

The group members and members of the Comcast Spectacor staff took a picture. In the picture, which is shown with this story, they were holding jerseys of the Philadelphia Flyers and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Both of the Sixers and the Flyers call the Wells Fargo Center their home. The jerseys of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies were not in this picture, as they play at Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Field within the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

The Sixers jersey is the new one that they debuted just a day earlier. It is their alternative jersey, as the white jersey with “Phila” will be used at home in most cases.

It is not clear if any of the group members like the Flyers or the Sixers. Also, usually the workers of the building staff take photos with the performers, but it is very rarely that they also bring jerseys of the host cities into the photo.

“Philadelphia was a mad house tonight!, ” New Kids On the Block Singer Donnie Wahlberg wrote on Twitter. “The city of brotherly love & Blockhead sisterly super love! Thanks for being great Philly! #MainEvent”
