The fight we’ve all been waiting for nearly seven years wasn’t much of a fight. Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson knocked down legend Ken Shamrock, before “Big” John McCarthy called the match after a big “Slice” right hand.
Shamrock was left with a cut over his eye following the catch weight match. Kimbo was the winner by TKO (Punches) at 2:22 into the first round.
At one point, the legend had the Miami native in a rear-naked choke.
It looked like Kimbo Slice was out of it. But he wouldn’t tap out, before getting out of it and winning the bout.
Both fighters were making their Bellator MMA debuts. It’s possible the 41-year-old Slice might get another shot; however, this is likely the end of the road for the 51-year-old Shamrock.
It was the first fight since 2010 for both guys. Both lost their last fights in that year, as well.
Shamrock hasn’t won a fight since Oct. 2010 when he defeated Johnathan Ivey by Unanimous decision at USA MMA – Return of the Champions.
Shamrock drops to 28-16-2, as the Hall of Famer has lost two straight bouts, including a Nov. 2010 bout to Mike Bourke at KOTC Platinum.
Kimbo Slice is 5-2 in his MMA career. However, three of his five MMA fights have ended by KO wins in the first round.
