Sam expected to return on Sunday after Alouettes hiatus

Many have questioned if openly-gay athlete Michael Sam could make it in football. Sam, who left the Montreal Alouettes, after his teammates questioned if he’s good enough to make it in football.

They also made fun of him for appearing on “Dancing with the Stars.” However, while he should know by now that he’s going to take a lot of heat for his decision to be gay and to be a gay athlete.

But, according to The Score, Sam is going to give football one more shot in the Canadian Football League with the Alouettes. Sam reportedly went back to Montreal on Wednesday and is expected to return for team meetings on Sunday.

The Alouettes lost their season-opener on Thursday night against the Ottawa RedBlacks.

On June 12th, Sam left the team for what was described as “person reasons.” However, head coach Jim Popp said that Sam would be welcomed back at some point.

“I think he will be back,” Popp said to The Guardian. “I’ll be surprised if he is not back. He wants to play. I will be very surprised if he is not back.”

If he does show up on Sunday, there’s a very good chance that Sam could make an appearance on July 3rd at home against the Calgary Stampeders.
