David Ferrer will no longer play at Wimbledon. He had to withdraw because of an elbow injury.

According to Wimbledon, he’ll be replaced by Luca Vanni of Italy. Ferrer was the eighth seed before having to pull out with his injury.

Vanni is the lucky loser who will now play from that seed. He’ll now face James Ward in the first round.

Ferrer has never won a major title in his career. However, he has previously reached the French Open final in 2013, before losing to Rafael Nadal.
