Roderick Strong has reportedly re-signed with Ring of Honor Wrestling. The company announced the signing in a press release.
Strong, who is known as Mr. ROH, was recently featured in a battle with ROH World Champion Jay Lethal. The two were in the main event at the Death Before Dishonor XIII in Baltimore, Maryland.
He’s also a “Triple Crown Champion,” who went to a draw with Lethal in their match as the 60-minute regular time expired without a winner.
“I’ve set the bar really high for myself and anyone who comes after me,” he said in the prepared statement. “I’ve got unfinished business in Ring of Honor and winning that ROH World Championship for a second time is of the utmost importance!”
His new contract keeps him from TNA Wrestling and the World Wrestling Entertainment, who were both reportedly courting him to join their companies. The WWE wanted him to join their NXT brand.
He’s expected to be allowed to continue to work with Pro Wrestling Guerilla. However, he will not be allowed to work for Global Force Wrestling.
His next major match with ROH will come at the Field of Honor in Brooklyn, New York on August 22nd. He’ll face IWGP Champion Kazuchika “Rainmaker” Okada.
On September 30th, 2015, Strong will enter his 13th-year with the company.
