Racers will be allowed to compete this weekend at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, PA. Racing was canceled following a death at the facility last Friday night.

James Campbell Jr. was involved in a multiple-car crash before emergency personnel went to the scene. He would pass away from his injuries.

The facility made the tough decision to stop racing on Friday and cancel Saturday’s events as well. The speedway had announced that they will have races once again this Friday beginning at 7:30 pm.

The 410 Sprint Car, which was on the track at the time of Campbell’s death, will return for Twin 20s at 7:30 pm. The Saturday event will be the street stock division.

The winners of the 20-lap 410 mains will receive $2,500. The time trails will be locked in for the 6, 8, and 12 starters.

This of course depends on how many cars have entered the race. The winner of the first main will draw to start the second 20-lap main.

A day before Campbell Jr. was killed, Kevin Swindell, a sprint car driver, who was racing in Iowa, was airlifted to a hospital after his car flipped over at the Knoxville Nationals to begin a heat race. As his car was flipping, it hit the outside wall and landed on its wheels in the World of Outlaws event.
