Buffalo Bills are one of the few teams in the NFL with a quarterback problem. In fact, they have Tyrod Taylor and Matt Cassel competing for the starting job.
While Cassel is already expected to win the job, Taylor is not giving up that easy. In fact, he’s going to be starting the team’s week 2 preseason game.
Bills GM Doug Whaley even said that Taylor “has everything you’re looking for.” The question is what is he looking for in his team’s starting signal caller.
“Everybody knows what he can do with his feet,” Whaley said. “But I’m impressed with a couple of his throws. We just have to make sure he can produce when his time’s called.”
He was 5-of-8 for 49 yards and even added 47 yards on the ground. He was with the second team offense when he did play during the team’s preseason opener.
There’s a good chance if he can put those numbers up with the first team offense, he’ll beat out Cassel for the job. These two are the only one’s in the competition, as the team has lost faith in former first round pick E.J. Manuel.
The former starter may not even make the team.
