Paladins back Alijah Jackson scored on a six-yard touchdown late. However, in the team’s final two series with six minutes remaining, quarterback Allan Walters was sacked by Joshua Kaindoh to stop each drive.

The home team had a 14-13 at halftime after a Jones Jr. (Notre Dame commit) scored.

Patterson was intercepted late in the first quarter by Jackson. In the following play, Thomas gave the Paladins a 13-7 lead with a 21-yard run.

IMG Academy jumped out to an early lead as Chauncey Gardner hit Emmanuel Greene for a 41-yard touchdown on a halfback option pass for the early 6-0 lead. The point-after was converted by Ricky Aguayo.

Paramus Catholic scored on the next drive, as Ahmad Thomas scored on a 4th-and-1 from the one-yard line. However, a bad snap on the extra-point gave the home team a 7-6 early lead.

This was the Ascenders second win against a North Jersey team this season. One month ago, the Ascenders defeated the Bergen Catholic Crusaders (Oradell, New Jersey) 59-47.

The Ascenders snapped the Paladins two-game win streak.
