Winger Michael Raffl collapsed on the Flyers bench

Philadelphia Flyers winger Michael Raffl collapsed on the bench during the game against the New York Rangers. It was a scary situation as the game was stopped so that medical personnel could attend to him.

It appeared like he was woozy on the bench. Then, he had to be helped to the locker room, as his teammates, who were worried about him, looked on.

Before he collapsed, he took an inadvertent elbow from Jarrett Stoll. He played six minutes and 40 seconds on the ice before he left.

He will likely not return to the game as a precaution. For safety precautions, medical personnel will likely take him to a nearby hospital where he will receive treatment. We do not know the extent of his injuries at this time.

With Raffl’s teammates seeing him collapsing on the bench, it’ll be interesting to see if they will be affected by what they are experiencing. He’s likely going to go through some tests before being able to return to action, as the team may decide to hold him out a game or several, depending on the severity of his injury.

We will update you, our readers, on his condition once the team releases an update, which may come following the game’s conclusion.

Raffl played in six minutes and 40 seconds on the ice in the game against the Rangers. He had one shot in the game.

Before this game, he had been seeing between 14 minutes through 18 minutes on the ice in each game to begin the season. He had the most ice time two games ago against the Dallas Stars when he had 18 minutes and 56 seconds on the ice.

In the Flyers’ third game of the season, he saw 14 minutes and seven seconds of ice time in a win against the Florida Panthers.

On the season, thus far, he has had one assist.
