Watkins leaves practice early; status uncertain for Sunday

Sammy Watkins, the Buffalo Bills wide receiver, has complained about the quarterbacks on his team not passing him the ball enough. Yet, he can’t even stay on the field to catch the said balls.

Watkins may be forced to miss this Sunday’s contest after leaving practice today. He left early and was seen with a heavily taped ankle.

Shortly after practice started, he was working off to the side with the training staff. The Bills top projected receiver may be downgraded now with this latest news.

The team is expected to update his playing status for this weekend shortly once practice is done. He did; however, practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Typically, NFL players who do not practice in full on Friday usually do not play in that weekend’s game.

Watkins has only played in three games and missed four. The Bills are also coming off of a bye, but that doesn’t matter to him.

He had four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6, which is the last time he played.

He hasn’t had more than 60 yards in a game this season.
