Battle of Heisman candidates: Henry outshines Fournette

Follow The Capital Sports Report on

Leonard Fournette was supposed to have a showcase game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, he could never get started.

He has 15 carries for 13 yards. However, the other Heisman candidate Derrick Henry is just running through the LSU Tigers defense.

In fact, he now has 14 straight games with a rushing touchdown. He’s now tied with Tim Tebow for the most by an SEC player in the past 10 seasons.

In addition, it’s the longest such streak in Alabama history.

Henry has 26 carries for 128 yards and three touchdowns. He has a one-yard touchdown, a two-yard touchdown, and a seven-yard touchdown.

The three touchdown ties a career-high for the Florida native. Late in the third quarter, the Crimson Tide leads LSU 27-10.
