Some say that the Heisman Trophy is won and lost in November. Well, for one candidate, his gap became further away from Louisiana State sophomore running back Leonard Fournette.

Trevone Boykin, the Texas Christian quarterback, has had a bad day against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Before the game, he was considered the second-best college football player this season behind Alabama Crimson Tide running back Derrick Henry.

His team is currently trailing 42-23 in the fourth quarter on FOX in a matchup of 8-0 teams. Boykin is 25 of 43 for 331 yards and a touchdown.

He’s also thrown three interceptions. Yes, three picks.

He has the three interceptions in just 37 offensive plays against the Cowboys. Previously, before today, he had just two interceptions in 198 games in Big 12 Conference play.

Two of Boykin’s interceptions came in the third quarter, while the first one came in the first quarter. Boykin was intercepted by Tre Flowers, as the Cowboys led 42-16. Flowers returns the pick for no gain with 7:33 in the third quarter.

Following a Cowboys punt, Boykin threw an interception in the second play of this drive to Chad Whitener, who returned it 23-yards to the Horned Frogs 1-yard line at 12:11 in the third.

J.W. Walsh would score on the following play for a one-yard touchdown.

In the first quarter after the Horned Frogs and the Cowboys punted, Boykin was intercepted by Jordan Burton and returned it for eight-yards for the TCU 46-yard line at 11:51 in the quarter.
