It is being reported that the Chicago Bears will be without running back Matt Forte next week. In fact, it’s being mentioned that he’s in “great doubt” of playing in Week 10.

Forte, who did not even make the trip to San Diego for tonight’s game against the Chargers, is dealing with an MCL injury. He’s undergone a platelet-rich plasma injection to spur the healing in his right knee.

The Bears take on the St. Louis Rams in Week 10. It looks like he may not be ready to take the field again until the Week 11 match up with the Denver Broncos and their elite defense.

Jeremy Langford will continue to hold down the fort until Forte returns. Forte has played in seven games so far this season, where he has 136 rushes for 548 yards and two touchdowns.

He also has one 100-yard rushing game. He also has 25 receptions for 219 yards and a touchdown.

This is the first time since the 2012 season that Forte has missed a game. That year, he played in 15 games and finished with 1,094 yards.

With his injury, there’s a chance that he may not break the 1,000-yardage mark this season. It would be the third time in his career – if this does happen – that he misses on the 1,000-yard mark.

He had 929 in 2009 and 997 in 2011.
