Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes was involved in an incident with New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher in Los Angeles last month. The two men got into a physical altercation during a party at the home of Barnes’ ex-wife.

Fisher was reportedly dating her, which Barnes took offense to. The NBA is reportedly investigating the incident.

“We’re two grown men who should have handled two grown men’s business, but he wanted to run and tell the cops and the NBA,” Barnes said, according to The Los Angeles Times.

While Fisher has refused to comment on the fight, Barnes broke his silence in the story. He has consistently said that he was concerned following texts from his son, which is why he went to his ex-wife’s house.

The small forward said that his children were uncomfortable that another man was with Gloria Govan, so he drove reportedly over 80 miles to check on the situation only to find Fisher there.

No charges have been filed, even though the Redondo Beach Police Department responded following a 911 call.

They were previously teammates with the Los Angeles Lakers from 2010 through 2012.

“With me, you never know,” Barnes added. “There’s a handful of people, who love me and a handful of people, who hate me. And there’s a handful of people, who want to chant ‘Derek Fisher’ so it will be interesting.”

It is unclear if this will be an isolated incident at press time. Or if there is going to be something further between these two men.
