It was revealed that signal-caller Ryan Fitzpatrick will have surgery later today. It’s not known exactly what time he’ll have the operation done.
Head coach Todd Bowles has confirmed that the Jets signal-caller is going under the knife. He’ll have a procedure on his thumb, which will repair the torn ligament in his left thumb.
Fitzpatrick said that he believes that he’ll be ready when the Jets take on the Houston Texans in Week 11.
“Yeah, I think so,” he said after the game. “We’ll see how it goes. That’s the intention.”
Against the Bills defense, Fitzpatrick threw for 193-yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. It was his second interception that sealed the Bills win.
The 193-yards were the second-lowest on the season for a full game that he’s appeared as their quarterback. In the season opener at home against the Cleveland Browns, he went 15 of 24 for 179 yards.
Minus these two games and the Nov. 1st game against the Oakland Raiders, where he went 4 of 5 for 46 yards, are the only games on the season that he hasn’t thrown for 200 or more yards. He had a season-high 295 yards against the New England Patriots on Oct. 25th.
