The UFC saw the biggest upset in its sport on Saturday night when Ronda Rousey was defeated handily by challenger Holly Holm. Now, Rousey will not be competing for a while.

She’s been given a 60-day medical suspension by the company. The UFC acted — because Australia doesn’t have an MMA governing body — and suspended Rousey.

It could last as long as 180 days if she cannot pass a CT scan.

Rousey took extensive damage to her face with Holm’s boxing experience. Her face, especially her lip, was so messed up that she had to go to a local hospital in Melbourne following the fight.

The former bantamweight champion said that she was going to take some time off following this fight, so it’s not surprising that the company doesn’t want their most popular fighter to compete again until she’s healed.

She’s reportedly going to film some movies during her time off. At this moment, it’s unclear where Rousey will end up in the championship title run in the future.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Holm takes on Meisha Tate next.

Rousey dropped to 12-1 with the loss, while Holm improved to 10-0 in her career.

She arrived at LAX in Los Angeles today and refused to speak with reporters.

Holm received a mandatory seven-day suspension. Fourteen fighters from UFC 193 were given medical suspensions.

Rousey received the heaviest suspension, as she also cannot have any contact for 45 days. Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau received a 45-game suspension with no contact for 30 days.

Like Rousey’s suspension, it could last as long as 180 days for both of those ladies. Jedrzejczyk needs to be cleared by a doctor after an x-ray, while Letourneau needs to clear a head CT scan.
