The Tulane Green Wave are looking for a new head coach after the administration fired its head coach Curtis Johnson. It was his third losing season in four years at the school.
He took the team to its lone bowl game in his tenure in 2013. But he was just 15-34 overall.
When they reached the bowl in 2013, it was their first bowl appearance in 11-years. They lost that game at the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl 24-21 to the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns.
However, his team’s have only won six games in the past two seasons. They lost 45-34 to the Tulsa Hurricanes last night after blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.
They finished 3-9 on the season. They only defeated FCS’ Maine Black Bears, winless UCF Knights and the Army Black Knights on the season.
The school will begin a search immediate for its new head coach. This will be the final head coach that Athletic Director Rick Dickson appoints, before he steps down next year.
There was some speculation that former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan would be a candidate. However, nothing has been mentioned since that day.
After the Saints fired him during the team’s bye week and appointed former Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen as his successor, Ryan has gotten a job with the NFL Network.
