The Miami Dolphins were once a proud team. Now, this season, they’re a joke.
The Dolphins have fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor in the latest firing of a messy season in South Florida. Quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor will be the team’s interim offensive coordinator for the rest of the season.
The firing of Lazor by interim head coach Dan Campbell is the second coordinator to be fired this season since he took over. Shortly after he replaced Joe Philbin, he fired defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle.
Many have questioned Lazor’s play-calling duties. Last week, a report came out that at least one Dolphins official had privately questioned Lazor’s system.
This official did not believe that his system is a fit for quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The former Texas A&M signal-caller has struggled this season.
Due to his struggles, whether it was due to Lazor’s system or not, the team has questioned if Tannehill is the right quarterback for the future even though he’s signed to a long-term deal.
