Lakers to be clean house in the off-season

As Kobe Bryant exits stage left at the end of the season, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to be completely different next season. Besides having new players, the team will have to also have a new head coach.

Speculation has already begun that current head coach Byron Scott will not return next season. The Lakers have just been horrible from their standards during his year and a half there.

Scott, who took over the team in July 2014, has gone just 23-75. However, this season, the Lakers are just 2-14.

The only team who has a worse record is the Philadelphia 76ers, who are 0-18. On Tuesday night, Scott and the Lakers take on the 76ers in South Philadelphia for a chance to get their third win of the season.

It’s not known right now if he’ll resign or be fired. But with the way this season is going, it doesn’t appear like the Lakers front office will give him the opportunity to resign.

Scott has won 23% of his games coaching the Lakers. They’re 26 games below .500 during his short tenure.

While that’s bad, it’s not the worst during his coaching career. Scott was 51 games below .500 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

These Cavaliers were without LeBron James as he took over the summer that James signed with the Miami Heat. In Cleveland, he won 27.8% of his games there, while winning 64 games and losing 166.
