It is now being reported that New England star tight end Rob Gronkowski will miss 1-2 weeks with the minor knee strain. He suffered a bruised knee in last night’s game against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
It was determined that he suffered a bruised knee after having an MRI. The MRI also revealed that he did not suffered any tears in his knee.
With this report, he’ll miss this Sunday’s game against the pathetic Philadelphia Eagles secondary. This is the same defense, who put a rookie Eric Rowe on Calvin Johnson and used press coverage against the Detroit Lions.
He may be able to return on December 13th against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium in Texas.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported early this morning that it wasn’t a major injury after he left the field on a cart.
“The injury doesn’t appear to be serious,” Schefter reported.
After leaving the game, he had x-rays on his apparent leg injury. An ESPN video showed Gronkowski walking from the X-ray room to the Patriots locker room with a slight limp.
He suffered the injury with 2:49 remaining in the game. As Tom Brady’s pass to Gronkowski went incomplete, Broncos defensive back Darian Stewart hit him low.
It appeared that Gronkowski’s leg whipped back as Stewart hit him. He was immediately in pain as the Patriots training staff looked at him.
Both Brady and head coach Bill Belichick were so concerned with their star player that they went go check up on him.
