Tampa Bay Storm adds OL Keyun Swinney

The Tampa Bay Storm have been assigned offensive lineman Keyun Swinney for the 2016 season. This will be his rookie campaign in the Arena Football League.

Swinney began his collegiate career at Jackson State, where he made the second-team preseason All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors in 2011. That would be his final season at Jackson State, as he would transfer to Alcorn State for the 2012 season, which finished out his college eligibility.

“Keyun is a versatile player that has seen action on both sides of the ball,” Storm’s Vice President of Football Operations Jeff Gooch said. “His versatility is invaluable and should prove useful as we head into the season. We look forward to seeing him come out and compete in training camp.”

Swinney has previous experience being in an AFL training camp, as he was in the camp with the Philadelphia Soul prior to last season. Swinney was assigned to the Soul on Jan. 30th, 2015, which is the same day that Bryan Randall was also re-assigned to the team.

Then, on Friday, March 20th, he was placed on reassignment. He would be brought back with the team, before being placed on league suspension on May 7th.

He does have previous experience playing indoor football, both on the offensive and defensive line. However, not in the AFL.
