Philadelphia Flyers-New York Islanders game postponed

The Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Islanders game at the Barclays Center in the Brooklyn, New York has been postponed. It’s the latest game that’s been postponed by Winter Storm Jonas.

The Flyers and the Islanders game was expected to be played today and will now be played at a later date. The game was originally scheduled for 7:30 pm EST this evening.

The Flyers last played on Thursday evening against the Pittsburgh Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The Penguins won that game 4-3.

The National Hockey League has also postponed two games involving the Washington Capitals, both at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The Capitals game with the Anaheim Ducks was originally moved from 7 pm to 5 pm leading up to the winter storm hitting much of the East Coast.

Then, the game with the Ducks was postponed. Then, the NHL announced this morning that the Capitals game with the Penguins – who are hosting a game with the Vancouver Canucks this afternoon – for Sunday was also postponed.

Just like the Flyers game, the NHL has not announced any rescheduled dates for these games that had to be moved for the safety of others due to the bad snow storm.

Winter Storm Jonas has been pounding much of the East Coast, as Washington, D.C, Philadelphia and the New York City areas have been hit the hardest. Much of the area is getting between 1-3 feet of snow.
