Vince Young – who was once a promising quarterback in the NFL – has been arrested for DWI in Austin, Texas. Young was a star signal-caller in Mack Brown’s offense and helped the Texas Longhorns to the BCS National Championship over the USC Trojans in 2005.

According to Authorities, he was arrested around 12:30 CST. He was spotted in the 1500 block of northbound 1-35, according to the report.

The 32-year-old last played in the NFL in 2011 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was signed with the Green Bay Packers in 2013; however, he was released before the season-opening roster was made.

In August 2014, he was hired by the University of Texas to work in their Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. His job had him working with alumni and also working on programs that support first-generation college students from low-income backgrounds.

With the Eagles, he played in six games, including three starts and a 1-2 record. He went 66-of-114 for 866 yards with four touchdowns to 9 interceptions.

Prior to signing with the Eagles, he went five seasons with the Tennessee Titans, who drafted him. He went 31-19 as a starter in 50 games.

Young went 755-of-1,304 for 8,964 yards with 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions. Young has had a troubled past few years.

In September 2008, he disappeared without his cell phone. After a second interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was upset about being booed that head coach Jeff Fisher called the cops on him after talking to Young’s family.

He also postponed a doctor’s examination of his sprained MCL in his left knee, which also happened in the game. His mother, Felicia Young, said at the time “he’s hurting inside and out.”

He’s also reportedly had financial problems after spending almost all of his $34 million salary that he made in the NFL. He even defaulted on a $1.9 million loan.

Young was also involved in a suit with Enos Cabell, a former Major League Baseball player, and two others, who wanted to his VY initials to sell products, along with “Invinceable.”
