TNA Maximum Impact results 1/31/16

Today, TNA Wrestling taped its Impact taping to appear on Pop TV in the near future. This event was a part of the Maximum Impact Tour 8 – Day 3 from the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham, England.

Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud began the show with a count out in their street fight. Then, for the TNA King of the Mountain Championship, Eric Young retained his strap.

Young had to go through Big Dama, Bram, Jimmy Havoc and Will Ospreay in the match. This match was Ospreay’s debut match with the company.

Gail Kim also retained her TNA Knockouts Championship with a pinfall win over Jade.

Beer Money (James Storm and Bobby Roode) became the new TNA World Tag Team Champions with their win over The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards). Richards was injured in the match and the severity of his injury is not known at this time.

However, as Richards would agree, a wrestler can get injured at any time when they are a professional wrestler.

Then, in Kurt Angle’s retirement match, Bobby Lashley defeated the former Olympic gold medalist. With Angle now “retired,” he can seek other opportunities within the wrestling professional — such as returning to his former employer in the World Wrestling Entertainment or find another job within the field such as a broadcaster or a road agent for either company.

Angle may take some time off to decide what his next steps are.
