The Sacramento Kings are a mess right now. But the never-ending drama with the team won’t be ending any time soon.

According to reports, the team would be firing head coach George Karl in the coming days. They had a miserable first half on Sunday against the Boston Celtics.

On Monday came word that the team would fire Karl before the All-Star Game. Karl and the front office definitely have a rocky road, especially since Karl hasn’t gotten along with Kings star DeMarcus Cousins.

But the team is determined to work things out — at least through the rest of the season.

“George will remain our coach and we are collectively working on our issues,” general manager Vlade Divac said.

The two met in Philadelphia on Tuesday before their game with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. According to CBS SportsKen Berger, “Both [sides] came away determined to fix them.”

During the meeting, Karl and Divac had agreed that they should focus on improving the team’s defense, according to Yahoo SportsMarc Spears. Right now, it’s the sixth-worst in the league.

The meeting gives Karl several more weeks to keep his job. If not, then he’ll be fired and they’ll look for a new coach.
