The Atlanta Falcons have released wide receiver Roddy White. He spent 11-years with the team.

With his release, the Falcons will save $2.3625 million in cap space.

The Falcons will make Julio Jones their main target moving forward for Matt Ryan. Jones had one of the best seasons ever last year when he had 1,871 yards. He also had a 136 receptions and eight touchdowns.

The 34-year-old White did not have a single game over a 100-receiving yards. His highest receiving game was against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 14 on Monday Night Football when he had four receptions for 84 yards.

After that game, he missed the next two games. Then, in the next seven weeks, he was held under 50 receiving yards until he had six receptions for 60-yards on Nov. 29 against the Minnesota Vikings.

He also had three more weeks below 50 receiving yards, before having five receptions for 6-yards against the Carolina Panthers on Dec. 27. Then, in his final Falcons game against the New Orleans Saints, he had a catch for 10 yards.

He ended the season with 43 receptions for 506 yards and a touchdown. That lone touchdown came against the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 15.

This season was his worst since he had 506 reception yards on 30 catches in 2006 in his sophomore year. That was the lone season he did not score a touchdown.

If White would like to play, one team to watch out for is going to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dirk Koetter, who was previously the Falcons offensive coordinator for three seasons, is now the Bucs head coach.

If he signs with a new team, he’ll likely have a diminished role. Also, depending on if there’s any interest from other teams, he could always retire.
