Brent Grimes has a new home. He has signed a two-year free agent deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Financial terms of the deal has not been released yet.
The 32-year-old Grimes has likely signed his final NFL contract after playing the past three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He was a Pro Bowler each of those seasons.
There has been talk that he may not have any interest from teams due to his controversial wife, Miko. Bleacher Report reported that he was released because of her.
He was released by the Dolphins on Wed. after the Dolphins acquired Byron Maxwell, along with Kiko Alonso, in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles that also included the teams swapping first-round draft picks.
She has sent vulgar tweets this wee. She even threatened Miami Herald reporter Armando Salguero when she wrote, “that fat (blank) Armando thinks he’s safe from bullets bc (because) we might be released is the funniest part of this whole things.” She even used a gun emoji with this tweet.
Grimes was arrested at a Dolphins game in Sept. and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
She attempted to walk through an area that was restricted near the southeast gate, according to the southeast gate. Police were there for crowd control.
Last season, he had 42 tackles, along with four interceptions and 14 pass deflections.
Prior to signing with the Dolphins, he played six seasons with the Atlanta Falcons.
