According to Yahoo! Sports, the California Golden Bears have suffered a major injury right before their NCAA March Madness Tournament game against Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors on Friday. Starting guard Tyrone Wallace suffered a fractured bone in his right hand.

He will undergo evaluations on his non-shooting hand to further determine if he’ll be able to give it a go. Right now, his status for the game is up in the air.

He reportedly suffered the injury on Wednesday, according to the story. The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 15.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 28 games this season.

Wallace also broke a bone in his right hand in January and missed a month with the injury.

He is one of the leaders on the team, which features stud freshman Jaylen Brown and Ivan Rabb. The Bears finished the season with a 23-10 record and are the No. 4 seed in the South Region.

The team is expected to update his condition in the coming hours. Without Wallace, if he can’t give it a go, then Brown and Rabb would be counted on more.

The Rainbow Warriors are not expected to be much of a challenge for the Bears in this game. But Wallace’s injury could affect them as they move on later in the tournament, if they defeat Hawai’i.

According to DraftExpress.com‘s Jonathan Givony, he’s ranked 17th, among seniors, in the 2016 NBA Draft.
