Broncos draft QB Paxton Lynch with the 26th overall pick

The Denver Broncos had to trade up to get their guy. With this selection, it ended all speculation of the Broncos trading for a veteran signal-caller.

With the 26th overall pick, they drafted former Memphis Tigers quarterback Paxton Lynch. He’ll be the future starter, as Mark Sanchez — who was acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this off-season — is the starter for now.

The Broncos were linked to both San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. However, it appears now that both are staying with their respective teams.
