One would say that Josh Koscheck is scared of Paul Daley. For the second-time, he’s withdrawn from a fight with Daley with the latest being Monday night.
Koscheck did not give a reason why he decided to withdraw from the fight. The two were supposed to fight on July 16th.
With Koscheck out — injury or not, he’s being replaced by Douglas Lima. The 38-year-old Koscheck is 17-10 in his MMA career.
He hasn’t fought since signing with Bellator. He lost his final five fights with the UFC — losing to Johny Hendricks, Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, Jake Ellenberger and Erick Silva.
His last MMA win came against Mike Pierce at UFC 143- Diaz vs. Condit in Feb. 2012.
While the two can’t fight in Bellator, because of Koscheck keep pulling out, he did previously beat Daley. He defeated Daley via unanimous decision in 2010 at UFC 113.
Lima and Daley will headline Bellator 158 from the 02 Arena in London, England. Daley comes into the fight with a 38-13-2 record, while Lima is 26-6-0.
Lima lost in his previous fight against Andrey Koreshkov at Bellator 140 in July 2015. Koreshkov won via a unanimous decision.
Daley hasn’t lost since Nov. 2013 when he lost to Alexander Yakovlev at Legend – Part 2: Invasion via a unanimous decision. Since that time, he’s won five straight fights.
Koscheck also pulled out of a fight with Daley in Jan. at Bellator 148 when Andy Uhrich was a late replacement. It was in California, Koscheck’s home state, and Daley called out Koscheck after the fight.
Uhrich lasted just two minutes with Daley before being knocked out.
