Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome is the highest-paid GM. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who also has extensive authority over the Patriots football operations, making him the general manager of the team, is the second-highest.
Schneider and head coach Pete Carroll were entering the final year of their contracts this season.
A Carroll contract extension should be announced soon. The sides have been talking about a multi-year extension for some time.
Along with Carroll, they’ve been able to turn the Seahawks into a powerhouse in the NFC. They’ve also been able to mask mistakes by acquiring Matt Flynn, Percy Harvin and Jimmy Graham with other elite talent.
Some of their best pickets were Russell Wilson in the third-round, while also getting Tyler Lockett in the same round. They’ve acquired Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor in the fifth-round, while getting Thomas Rawls, their starting running back, as an undrafted free agent last year.
With these two leading the Seahawks, the team’s future looks very bright. It wouldn’t be surprising if they contend for more Super Bowls in the future, as they did win the franchise’s first over the Denver Broncos a few years ago in the first-ever cold weather outdoor Super Bowl when it took place at MetLife Stadium.
