Erik Jones won the NASCAR Xfinity Series race in Iowa on Saturday night. The rookie took the lead from Ty Dillon in the final 16 laps to get the win in the U.S. Cellular 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
It’s Jones’ third win of the season — and his first since May. He led 154 of the 250 laps, which was a race-high.
“I was really working as hard as I could to get around Ty,” Jones said. “Man, it was tough. I feel like we deserved to win when (we) came here earlier this year. We really had a fast car. It’s nice to get some redemption.”

Dillion was looking for his first win since Indianapolis in 2014. He hasn’t won a race in the past 66 contests.
Jones is the only driver with more than one Xfinity win this year. Brad Keselowski was the only NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver in the field.
“I wanted to win so bad and that was all we had,” Dillion said. “Man, my heart has been broken every race since Indy. I want to get in Victory Lane again. We’re close. It’s just that we need to get a little bit closer.”

Elliott Sadler was third, while Brennan Poole and Dakoda Armstrong rounded out the Top 5.
