On Friday, September 9th, Glory kickboxing makes their debut at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, N.J. The show is being called “Glory 33” and will start at 5:30 pm and will air on ESPN.

The nearly twenty-year-old building will also have fights streamed on UFC Fight Pass and ESPN3. The show will be headlined by Rico Verhoeven when he faces “Braddock” Anderson Silva. Verhoeven comes into the fight with a 48-10-1 record with 12 KOs.

Silva — not to be confused with the MMA legend Anderson Silva, who competes in UFC — is 40-14-1 with 25 KOs. Verhoeven’s heavyweight belt will be on the line in this match.

“The Tri-State area is a hotbed for combat sports and our last trip there provided that,” Glory CEO Jon Franklin said in July. “We’ve partnered up once again with a fantastic promoter in Lou Neglia to bring New Jersey’s enthusiastic fanbase two high-caliber title fights on a fight card to be proud of.”

In August, the company added a co-main event featuring Hesdy Gerges and Guto Inocente. Gerges comes into the fight with a 49-16-1 record, while Inocente is 31-7.

Gerges defeated Ismael Londt at Glory 31 in June and is the 5th-ranked heavyweight in Glory. Inocente is 2-0 in the company and defeated Brian Douwes at Glory 30 in May.

Earlier this month, Chi Lewis-Parry (7-1) and Xavier Vigny (10-1) were added to the card. Simon Marcus (44-2-2) and Jason Wilnis (28-6-1) are also facing each other.

Zola Frausto will face Daniela Graf in a Super Bantamweight Grand Prix quarterfinal match. Frausto is 4-0, while Graf is 23-4-1.

There will be also a four-man, same-night Featherweight Contender tournament. This will feature Serhiy Adamchuk, Giga Chikadza, Chitin Lim and Matt Embree.

Adamchuk (33-6) will face Chikadza, who is 35-4. Adamchuk is looking to rebound after losing to Gabriel Varga at Glory 32.

Lim (69-19) will face Embrue (37-7). The winners will then face each other.

“The interesting thing about this fight (Adamchuk vs. Chikadza) is it is two fighters with a very intelligent approach,” Glory matchmaker Cor Hemmers said to www.glorykickboxing.com. “They aren’t just going out there swinging, they are opening their opponent up, tricking him and misdirecting him into moving the wrong way. It will be interesting to see which of them can outfox the other.

“Adamchuk has a mostly counter-attacking style but when he sees an opening he quickly flicks the switch and moves into attacking mode to pressure him. Chikadze’s kicking game is like nobody else’s in GLORY, it’s very unique, so that can make opponents hesitant to attack. And when they counter, sometimes they will find that Chikadze has baited them into throwing that counter and he has a counter-counter ready.”

Besides this main card, the undercard will feature Francois Ambang and Daniel Morales. There will also be a 140-pound fight between Rami Ibrahim and David Moore.
