Butler was signed by the Arizona Cardinals in July. Then he was one of the final cuts to get the Cardinals to the mandatory 53-man roster on Sept. 3rd.

He spent the previous five-years with the San Diego Chargers. He was released by the team on March 3rd.

In 71 career games with the Chargers, he had 373 tackles, 7.0 sacks, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, three interceptions and 12 pass deflections.

It’ll be interesting to see if Hawk still works out for the team later this week. Palm Beach Post reporter Joe Schad had broke the story on Tuesday morning.

Hawk has close ties to new Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. The two were with the Cincinnati Bengals last year, where Hawk played in all 16 games — including 11 starts.
