The Baltimore Ravens have fired offensive coordinator Marc Trestman. He’s been replaced with Marty Mornhinweg.
It’s the second team to fire its offensive coordinator already this season. After their Thursday Night Football game to begin Week 2, the Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman.

“After very careful consideration, I have decided to make a change to our offensive coaching staff and have replaced Marc Trestman with Marty Mornhinweg as offensive coordinator for the rest of the season,” head coach John Harbaugh said. “My obligations are to the team, the organization, and the fans to be the very best team we can be.

“Today we find ourselves one game out of the division and conference lead after experiencing two tough losses at home. We will work to be better in every aspect of our football team. Our expectations are high, and we look forward to fulfilling them.”
The move comes on the heel of the Ravens loss to the Washington Redskins at home. The Ravens lost 16-10 on Sunday.
On their opening drive, the team went 75 yards, but then was flat afterwards. They scored a touchdown on their first drive, but could only muster a field goal the rest of the game.
The Ravens had just eight running plays in the final three quarters. Terrance West, their starting running back, carried the ball 11 times and averaged 8.6 yards per carry.
Trestman was in his second season as the Ravens offensive coordinator. He was previously the Chicago Bears head coach, where he struggled as well.
Trestman replaced Gary Kubiak, who led to become the Denver Broncos head coach. Then, he guided the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers.
“I appreciate and respect the efforts and contributions Marc has made to the team since his arrival,” Harbaugh said. “Marc is a good person and an excellent football coach.”

Mornhinweg is quarterback Joe Flacco’s fifth offensive coordinator in nine years. Cam Cameron, Jim Caldwell, Kubiak, and Trestman were his offensive coordinators.
The new Ravens offensive coordinator was previously the New York Jets offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014. He also was the Philadelphia Eagles OC from 2004 to 2012 and with the San Francisco 49ers from 1997 to 2000.
He also was the Detroit Lions head coach for two seasons in 2001 and 2002.
