Baker Mayfield was a walk-on quarterback. Now, he’s going down in the record books with the Oklahoma Sooners.

Mayfield is the fifth quarterback in school history to throw for 50 touchdowns in a career there. He had two touchdowns in Saturday’s game against the Kansas State Wildcats.

He first threw a touchdown to Samaje Perine for a 25-yard touchdown at 12:24 in the first quarter. Then, at the six minute mark in the quarter, he threw an eight-yard touchdown to Joe Mixon.

As of this post, Mayfield is 7-of-8 for 91 yards with two touchdowns.

Mayfield joins Landry Jones, Sam Bradford, Jason White and Josh Heupel to pass for 50 or more touchdowns in their collegiate career at the school. Jones is the only one to throw over a 100, as he has a 123. Bradford had 88, White 81 and Heupel had 53.
