The Philadelphia 76ers began their season at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night. They hosted the new-looked Oklahoma City Thunder.

During the game, a fan gave Russell Westbrook, the Thunder’s best player, two middle fingers. The fan was ejected.

The fan reacted after Westbrook had an and-1 called on him. He made a layup when he was fouled at 4:52.

Westbrook then looked into the crowd, where the guy was. After a yell and a flex, the guy gave Westbrook the fingers.

The fan said, “F— you!” as Westbrook looked at a referee. He then asked the referee, “Can he do that?”

During the free throws, the notorious Philadelphia crowd chanted “KD left you!” They were referring to Kevin Durant, who signed with the Golden State Warriors on July 4th.

After the incident with the fan, the Thunder went on a 16-6 run to end the first quarter.

At press time, there have not been any ramifications for the fan in question, who has not been identified yet, who was ejected. However, once he is identified, then the league, or even the 76ers, will announce some type of ramifications that may include either a short-term ban or a lifetime ban.

Typically, with some kind of incident with an athlete, there is a lengthy punishment, even if it may be just for one year.
