The fan who flipped off Russell Westbrook, the Oklahoma City Thunder star, is a Doctor. According to philly.com, his name is Richard Harkaway. He gave Westbrook the middle fingers in the first quarter.
Westbrook made an and-1 on a layup. Then as he let out a yell, Harkaway gave the fingers to Westbrook.

He says he’s sorry for his actions. The urologist also says that he was provoked.

His business, Urological Consultants of Southeastern Pennsylvania, reportedly received many phone calls on Thursday morning. However, the calls were not about making appointments.
“As a part-time comedian, I realize that my words and actions are sometimes inappropriate,” Harkaway said in a statement to Philly.com issued by a personal representative. “In this instance, after standing up to boo and being provoked by Russell Westbrook calling attention to my being overweight, my action in response was inexcusable and I am embarrassed.
“I sincerely apologize to my fellow Sixers fans, the Sixers organization, my colleagues and patients, and to Mr. Westbrook for my behavior.”
While Harkaway says he was called overweight, it’s not clear if Westbrook even did that. Westbrook was surprised by Harkaway’s action, including acting as a referee if he could do that.

The fans also heckled Westbrook in his first game without Kevin Durant. The former Thunder star signed with the Golden State Warriors on July 4th.
At press time, there is no ramifications for Harkaway. However, typically, when there is some kind of incident with a fan, there is some kind of punishment by the team. It could be a short time ban, where he cannot attend a game for a year. ‘
Or it could be much worse, where it may not be able to attend another game in his life. But the 76ers have not said one way or another what they’re going to do. If they do anything, we’ll post about it in another story.
