Alexis DeJoria and her Kalitta Motorsports Tequila Patrón Toyota Camry Funny Car team will not be racing at today’s NHRA Toyota Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Dragway.
“The team has elected not to participate in Sunday’s elimination rounds,” the team statement said. “And will focus their efforts on regrouping for the 52nd Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona, California, November 11-13.”

She was supposed to face Courtney Force in the first round of eliminations in the 8-9 matchup. Force received a bye with DeJoria’s withdrawal.
In DeJoria’s final around on Saturday night, she went up in smoke early. She crossed the stripped but still went 5.678 seconds.
There is speculation that DeJoria may have suffered a concussion following a Saturday pass. However, the team hasn’t confirmed those rumors — so we’re not going to speculate on why she isn’t racing.
This is the first time that she’s missed a race since missing several races following her injury at the Toyota NHRA Sonoma Nationals at the end of July. She returned for the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.
