Simulation: Rams drop the Panthers to 2-6 following Gurley’s big day

According to our whatifsports.com simulation, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Carolina Panthers. The Rams won 27-21 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Panthers had 314 total yards in 28 minutes and 47 seconds in time of possession. The Rams had 380 total yards in 31 minutes and 13 seconds.

Rams quarterback Case Keenum went 15 of 27 for 194 yards. He had two touchdowns.

Todd Gurley had 22 carries for a 101 yards and a touchdown. Benny Cunningham had six carries for 64 yards, while Malcolm Brown had three carries for 19 yards. Chase Reynolds had a four yard carry, while Tavon Austin and Keenum had a carry for two yards each.

Kenny Britt had three receptions for 58 yards, while Brian Quick had three receptions for 51 yards and Austin had four receptions for 34 yards. Lance Kendricks had two receptions for 21 yards.

Gurley had a 19 yard reception and a touchdown. Cunningham had an eight yard reception and a touchdown. Bradley Marquez had a three yard reception.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton went 15 of 23 for 250 yards and three touchdowns.

Mike Tolbert had 11 carries for 37 yards. Newton had four carries for 28 yards and Jonathan Stewart had 14 carries for 15 yards.

Ted Ginn Jr. had two receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Greg Olsen had five receptions for 65 yards and Devin Funchess had three receptions for 38 yards. Corey Brown and Kelvin Benjamin had two receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown each. Tolbert had a 19 yard reception.

A.J. Klein led the Panthers with five tackles. Luke Kuechley and Paul Soliai had four tackles each. Jared Noris, Ryan Delaire and Colin Jones had three tackles each. Kuechley also had a sack.

Mark Barron led the Rams with five tackles, while Ethan Westbrooks, Michael Brockers and Cam Thomas had three tackles each. Brockers, Cody Davis and Bryce Hager had a sack each.

Gurley and Cunningham each had a second half touchdown. Greg Zuerlein made two field goals.

Ginn Jr. caught a 70-yard touchdown from Newton in the third.

The Panthers led 14-7. Benjamin and Brown caught a touchdown each.

Gurley caught a 19-yard touchdown from Keenum in the first half.
