Preview: Bowling Green @ Akron

On Wednesday might, the Bowling Green Falcons face the Arkon Zips at InfoCision Stadium. The Falcons come into this game with a 1-8 record, while the Zips are 5-5.

Bowling Green is 0-5 on the road this season. Akron is 2-3 at home, including a loss to the Toledo Rockets last week on the ESPN family of networks. This game will be on ESPNU at 8 pm.

Bowling Green have won seven straight games in this series. They won 59-10 last year on Oct. 17, 2015.

Akron hasn’t won in this series since Nov. 4, 2006 when they won 35-28.

In the past 10 games in this series, Bowling Green has won eight. The Zips have wins on Nov. 4, 2006 (35-28) and Oct. 29, 2005 (24-14).

The Falcons come into this game on a seven-game losing streak. They haven’t won a game since defeating the University of North Dakota on Sept. 10 when they won 2726.

They have been outscored 303-154 in the past seven games.

Akron has lost the past two games. They were defeated the Rockets last week, like we mentioned above, and were defeated by the Buffalo Bulls on Oct. 27.

They haven’t won a game since defeating the Ball State Cardinals on Oct. 22 when they won 35-25.

The Falcons are averaging 21.2 points and the Zips are scoring 29.8 per contest.

Akron is averaging 404.9 yards per game and Bowling Green is getting 385.7. The Falcons are giving up 504.7 and the Zips are giving up 497.

James Morgan leads the Falcons attack with 1,654 yards. He has 14 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Fred Coppet has 649 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Scott Miller has 849 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Thomas Woodson leads the Zips with 2,079 yards. He has 18 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Van Edwards Jr. has 402 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jerome Lane has 866 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
