According to TMZ Sports, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will honor a former National Football Player on his cleats. Brown will honor former Arizona Cardinals player Pat Tillman.
Tillman gave his life for our freedom. He gave up millions to join the military after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. He felt it was his patriotic duty to fight for our country.
He joined the Army Rangers special operations unit. While in Afghanistan, he was killed in 2004.
It was later announced that he was shot from friendly fire. Tillman was given posthumously the Silver Star and the Purple Heart medals.
Corey Pane made the cleats for Brown. It’s not clear if Brown will wear these in the game, warmups or even at all.
The NFL has complaints to Brown about his custom cleats before. They even told him to take them off or they were going to kick him out of the game.
On Veterans Day, we remember Tillman and all those Veterans that served.
