The last time Iowa defeated an Associated Press Top 2 team was in 1985. That’s when then No. 1 Hawkeyes beat the No. 2 Wolverines with Jim Harbaugh was the quarterback.

Harbaugh is now the Michigan (9-1) head coach. They’ve lost four straight in Iowa City, as they haven’t won there since Oct. 22, 2005.

The Wolverines haven’t defeated Iowa since Nov. 17, 2012 when they won 42-17.

Iowa had 19 first-downs, while Michigan had 15. The Hawkeyes had 232 yards and the Wolverines had 201.

Iowa kicker Keith Duncan made a 33-yard field goal with one second left for the 14-13 lead. It was Duncan’s first game-winning of the freshman’s career.

The Wolverines took a 13-11 lead when Kenny Allen made a 51-yard field goal.

Duncan also made a 25-yard field goal in the third quarter for a 11-10 lead.

At halftime, Michigan led 10-8. Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard, who had 66 yards with a touchdown and interception, hit Akrum Wadley for a three-yard touchdown with 1:27 left in the second quarter. The two point conversion failed.

De’Veon Smith was tackled in the end zone by Jaleel Johnson for a safety as Iowa got on the board.

Michigan scored the first 10 points. Allen made a 26 yard field goal, then Ty Isaac scored on a seven-yard run.
