Preview: Arkansas State @ Troy

On Thursday night, Arkansas State Red Wolves face the Troy Trojans. The Red Wolves are 5-4, while the Trojans are 8-1.

The Red Wolves are 1-2 on the road. The Trojans are 5-0 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. This evenings’ game will be live on ESPNU at 9:30 pm EST.

Arkansas State has won the past three games in this series. During these games, the Red Wolves have outscored the Trojans 127-82.

The past two meetings have ended with Arkansas State winning 41-34. Troy hasn’t won in this series since Sept. 25, 2010 when they won 35-28.

In the past 10 games in the series, the Red Wolves have won six times. The four Trojans wins came between Oct. 27, 2007 and Sept. 25, 2010.

Arkansas State has won their past five games. They have went through the Georgia Southern Eagles, the South Alabama Jaguars, Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, Georgia State Panthers and the New Mexico State Aggies during the win streak.

The Red Wolves haven’t been beaten since Sept. 24, 2016 when they lost 28-23 to FCS school Central Arkansas Bears. Arkansas State began the first month of the season on a four-game losing streak.

Troy has won seven straight games. During this streak, they have beat the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, the Aggies, the Idaho Vandals, the Panthers, the Jaguars, the UMass Minutemen and the Appalachian State Mountaineers.

They haven’t lost since being defeated 30-24 on Sept. 10, 2016 by the Clemson Tigers.

The Red Wolves are averaging 26 points per game. The Trojans are averaging 38.1.

Arkansas State is averaging 381.3 points per game. They’re giving up 411.4.

Troy is averaging 474 yards per game. They’re giving up 370.6.

Justice Hansen leads the Red Wolves attack with 1,793 yards. He has 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Warren Wand has 607 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Blake Mack has 522 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Brandon Silvers leads the Trojans attack with 2,302 yards. He has 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Jordan Chunn has 1,028 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Deondré Douglas has 532 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
