The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted second-year OL Jeremiah Poutasi to the 53-man active roster from the team’s practice squad, the club announced today. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars released OL Bryce Harris.
Poutasi, 6-5, 335, played in 11 games with seven starts at RT during his rookie season in 2015 for the Titans. A third-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, Poutasi played both guard and tackle at Utah and entered the draft following his junior campaign. Poutasi was waived by Tennessee during final roster reductions before signing to the Jaguars’ practice squad.
Poutasi was a three-year starter at Utah where he played in 36 games with 35 starts (left tackle as a junior, right tackle as a true freshman and sophomore). The Las Vegas native attended Desert Pines (Nev.) High School where he was a team captain as a senior and also competed on the school’s bowling team, posting a high score of 283. Poutasi is married to his wife, DeAnna, and was born on August 7, 1994.
