Preview: Mississippi Valley State @ Michigan State

On Friday night, the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils face #13 Michigan State. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season.

The Delta Devils are 0-3, while the Spartans are 0-2. Both of Michigan State’s losses have come on the road. Mississippi State has lost all three games on the road.

This is the second meetings between the two teams. On Dec. 28, 1999, Michigan State won 96 to 63.

Mississippi State lost their past three games to the Northwestern Wildcats, #19 West Virginia Mountaineers and the Kent State Golden Flashes. All three games they were blown out.

In their past 10 games, they only have three wins. They defeated the Grambling State Tigers and the Alcorn State Braves.

Michigan State has been beaten by the Arizona Wildcats and the Kentucky Wildcats. They lost to Arizona by two points, 65-63, to begin the season.

In their past 10 games, the Spartans won seven games; however, they lost their past three games, including a 90-81 loss to Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders in the NCAA March Madness Tournament.

The Delta Devils are averaging 64 points per game. The Spartans are averaging 55.5.

Marcus Romain leads Mississippi Valley State with 12.7 points. Michael Matlock is averaging 4.7 rebounds and Romain is averaging 3.3 assists.

Miles Bridges leads Michigan State with 13.5 points. He also is averaging 9.5 rebounds, while Cassius Winston is averaging 2.5 assists.
